Well this review isn’t going to be as nice as the last one. This place is now under new ownership with the same menu since last year but the food is not the same. It’s nice to see that there are still some good reviews…coming in but mine isn’t one of them this time. The seafood salad was a soup with shrimp laying in the bottom. Not sauce but a watery soup. This was my spouses number one places to go to this year and it was not the same. Very nice people but they need to step up the food a lot!!!! 2 stars because my Octopus was not horrible. I hate giving bad reviews ????More

Was walking down the malecón, and saw this restaurant. Went in and ordered a couple of things. Both items ordered were really good. Both items were fresh and well presented. Service was good. Would recommend this place for fresh seafood. Will return next time.

I enter restaurant without looking anything on TripAdvisor because I like very much the atmosphere and cleanliness of it. As soon as I seat I look for the comments at restaurant page and, due that, I was not expecting a good meal. For my pleasant…surprise it is not that at all. Restaurant staff was super, quality of service was really good and plates was served really fast. Quality of food is also super good. We order a guacamole as starter and as main dish Coconut Shrimp and Grilled Octopus. All plates were really good, quality ingredients and well display (see in pictures). Worth to try if you are looking for fresh seafood with a touch of Mexican style .More

I guess we have been spoiled. We have been in this shangrila of a community, Puerto Vallarta, for 3 months now, and have been coming here for a number of years. We have found most restaurants to have great food, pleasant service, and a pleasure…to be in, whether a simple or a luxury location. Getting ready to head back home, we went down to the Malecon for our last Sunday night of this season. We passed Mama Sirena, and did remember that someone had mentioned it. Well it was nothing near to what they suggested. The waitress although she spoke excellent English, which is an un-expected rarity, was not a good listener and an even worse communicator, and did not seem to know what was happening. She also did not get the order right. Everything about the food seemed to be of the pre packaged variety, again a very rare thing in this wonderful place. From the tostada’s rapped in cello bags and bound with elastic so they could go from one table to the next, to the pre frozen mussels, to the Costco fish sticks, nothing was impressive. To top this off, the cashier came over for our card, and when it was approved by the machine, she asked for ID. That has never happened with us.More

Mr Thomas, we respect your opinión and with all respect let us inform you some issues… We never use frozen, or prepacked food from Costco Toast wrapped in celifan is a matter of hygiene to avoid dust and insects on them, in the same way…More

None of the food was good but the hamburger was the worst part of it. We ordered chicken fajitas and the Neptune burger. The chicken tasted like fish and the hamburger was rare. We sent the burger back. After 10 minutes it came back exactly…as we sent it. They tried to convince us that pink was the color of the meat and that cooking it would not make it darker. I would rate Mama Sirena low for the quality of food alone. I am more disappointed about the service. Even if it was true about the color of the meat, how would it hurt to cook it more, or offer us something else, or even take it off the bill (they gave us a 50% discount). I usually do research before I try a new restaurant. I didn’t this time, so that’s on me. Hopefully I can spare someone else a bad meal.More

We visited this very quiet restaurant last night (should have seen this as a warning sign) with our four children and were extremely disappointed. We sent three meals back that were inedible… To top the night off, there was a problem with their credit card…machine and we spent around 40mins trying to pay. After being charged multiple times and then trying to process refunds, we were happy to leave and never return! We do not think we have ever been to a worse restaurant in our lives!More

Walk by here daily and finally went in for dinner. Not very busy for New Year’s Day. Our waiter seemed flustered right from the start and we waited for menus. Then we waited while he checked kind of wine. Then we really waited for drinks….Our food came out timely and was tasty (chicken fajitas). We never saw our waiter again and had to wait for bill. I can’t offer a fair assessment of the restaurant as i was annoyed with the service. I feel our waiter had not been properly trained as he was clearly out of his element. There were other tables near us that were also frustrated. Our food WAS good- we would likely have spent more time – and money there had the staffing been better. We will make one more attempt and will follow up this review.More

We consider this one a hidden gem. Outstanding people and service when we were there and the cutest little hostess who looked like Moana that sat us was so friendly and sweet. I had the Octopus on a bed of cheese covered potatoes that were…so good and the Octopus was huge , fresh and cooked perfect. We also had the Oscar burger. Burger and shrimp were huge! Had to take it home with us. And for the best part in my wife’s eyes, the best Mojitos she’s had in PV !! We even had to go back. We sat on the balcony overlooking the street a half block up from the Malecon. Surprisingly a very unique and relaxing view. Also inside on the upper split level is some more seating with a stand-up bar and TVs. Last but not least, the prices were more than reasonable if not great for what we had. Actually the prices were great considering that PV in general seams to have all had a little price hike this year. Highly recommended and we will go back before we leave and when we return. Enjoy everyone. Cheers!!More

Mama Sirena was an awesome experience. The restaurant is pretty, the service is excelent, and the food was DELICIOUS! I had the Pulpo (octopus) and it was exceptionally good. I dream of going back to Puerto Vallarta just to eat it again. Our friends also…tried it and they got different dishes and they loved it as well. If you like seafood, definitely go to mama sirena.
