The service was terrible. The waiter was half asleep of hung over or something. He didn’t even crack a fake smile – very unfriendly way about him. He forgot to put in our drink order and we got our food before our drinks when another…nice efficient waitress noticed and went and made the drinks herself. I have always thought Burro’s had fabulous deep fried prawns and coconut prawns but they were not up to it at all this time. The breading had a funny flavor. The setting is authentic and on the beach.More
Drinks were way too sweet. The two for one margaritas were not good. Too sweet, strong alcohol, the volume of the two of them probably equaled one drink at other restaurants. Also had a piñada ( piña colada without alcoholic). Everywhere else we’ve gone had…much better drinks. Didn’t drink most of it as it was super sweet and tasted artificial. A lot of sellers came through.More
Service was decent, but the attempt to create ‘fun ambiance’ via obnoxiously loud music falls flat. 2-for-1 margaritas is the front selling point, and nets you 2 10 oz syrupy blended icks. Dining order results were not much better, with the ‘garlic shrimp’ being truly…minuscule examples of shrimp, liberally salted with roasted garlic. The ‘filet of fish’ was supposedly a snapper, but terribly thin, breaded, and also liberally salted with roasted garlic flakes. Both dishes served with toasted slice of sourdough, an ounce of formed rice+veg, mediocre fries.More
Wife and I stopped in here for dinner. Funky little place on the beach. Feet in the sand. We had a chili relleno which was delicious. Service was great. Credit card not accepted but do take U.S. dollars. Margarita was cheap and good.
We had a very good lunch here. Tables are in the sand, some right next to the ocean. Good food. However bring cash as they don’t take credit. Very nice wait staff. Vendors are prolific.
Great sunsets from beach tables. Food is boring and not very good but beer is cold . Service was very slow, garlic shrimp was over cooked, dry and small serving, came with French fries and rice, barely warm. Go for snacks and beer not dinner
Really fun shack bar restaurant on the waterfront in Puerto Vallarta. Beach is quite nice. Inexpensive beer and drinks. Can’t beat the atmosphere great place to sit and chill.
Thank you for visiting
Basic casual beach bar/restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. Covid protocols observed (hand sanitizer at entrance and staff wearing masks). Happy hour all day Margaritas, 2 for 110 pesos (generous amount of tequila). My husband had two beers, 40 pesos each, shared fish cerviche (good, not…the best we have had). Bill came to 350 pesos not incl tip.More
Tables in the sand. Authentic. The margaritas were just how we asked them to make them. The breaded shrimp and garlic shrimp were the best ever! We didn’t have high expectations because the place was not fancy or anything but the food was great. They…don’t take credit cards and the exchange from USD to Pesos is not good so bring pesos.More
Terrible managerial ethic. The setting is lovely, feels very “authentic” Mexican. The server was a delightful young man, the food was very good. At the end we were told that the exchange rate was a 17% exchange rate for US rather than the standard 20%…US being charged all over Puerto Vallarta now. I even confirmed with a Local afterwards-it’s 20%, he said sometimes restaurants will vary in a little bit and give you 19% maybe 18% at the absolute worst- it has not been 17% here for more than three years now, verbatim. This amounted to something like a five dollar difference in the bill itself and did not cover gratuity. I understand a slight difference however when we asked the manager about it not only was he very confrontational he ultimately told me “I don’t give a F….. about what you think“. It totally completely ruined what was otherwise a really nice experience. I would strongly discourage anyone from going to a place with an owner/manager dealing with the public with that kind of attitude and lack of business scruples. I never write negative reviews about anything. I believe this is the first negative review I’ve ever posted regarding a restaurant, an Airbnb, anything it really rattled me and the man was really nasty and aggressive.More
YES, there are mixed reviews for this restaurant. Our experience was perfect, First the blackberry margaritas were exactly like I want ~~sweet. We then had chicken fajitas that we shared and plenty for two with an order of guacamole and extra tortillas. YES, the vendors…did come by, but they left at NO. There was no hassle and occasionally it was nice to look while waiting. Also, with an ocean breeze it was nice and cool on a hot day.More
This restaurant is right next door to two others, and the menus and prices are pretty comparable. The two next door have big canopies that are great in the rain. This place just has umbrellas. Our server was young but very attentive and friendly. My…husband ordered shrimp ceviche (lots of cucumbers!) and I had chili rellenos. Both were just OK. The guacamole was good, and honestly, we were there for the sunset which never disappoints. We could do without the beach vendors. They come right inside the restaurant which is annoying.More
We had the burritos Camarones and it was excellent! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The view is great and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone!! We made it our home away from home and I think anyone else would really enjoy it….Ask for Sammy or Canaan and just enjoy!More
Thank you amigos ! Come back soon
Went for lunch early afternoon. The place was pretty empty the beach setting is a definite plus. We wanted something light so ordered Nachos. They were edible but very basic and nothing memorable. It took forever to get such a simple dish. We were last…here 7 years ago and the place seems to have gone downhill since then. Maybe the impact of Covid?More
Food is bland, and they don’t accept credit cards. It’s close to the waves though. Staff is friendly.
